In Honor Of Our Funky Family Member Boston Baked Bean

We are heartbroken to hear that little Boston (4 months old) has FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis).

For those who don't know about this disease, it's caused by a virus known as the Coronavirus (which 80% of cats have tested positive to exposure). The feline coronavirus only causes illness in cats and the severity can vary. The more "innocent" form of the virus shows up as diarrhea. The more aggressive strain has mutated into what is known as FIP and is deadly.  Kittens with an immature immune systems and seniors are the most likely to be affected from the mutation. As of now, there is no test that can be done to detect the mutation of the Coronavirus into FIP, there is no cure and is always fatal.

Although Boston Baked Bean and his momma have only shared a short time together, they became very attached. His rapid decline has been terrifying, heartbreaking and expensive (trips to the vet). We all know what it's like to fall in love with your pets and how horrible it is to lose them.

We have been FIP Warriors, supporting an amazing non profit ZenByCat that raises awareness and funds to research FIP.

In honor of Boston Baked Bean, his mom and all the other families living and loving their FIP kitties, PetPotion is donating 10% of all sales of Refresh PetPotion to Zen By Cat.  Just make sure to choose ZenByCat at checkout as the charity you wish to support.. A cure won't come in time to save Boston, but it will help many kitties and loving parents in the future.
